The most expensive town around Raleigh, North Carolina is Chapel Hill. The average list price recently for a home was $589,000 and the final sales price for that home was $614,000. Chapel Hill is 40 to 45 minutes away from downtown Raleigh. Chapel Hill is a southern village that it has always been for the last fifty to a hundred years. It has several buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Univerity of North Chapel Hill.

Next on the list is Morrisville North Carolina. The average list price for homes recently has been $550,00, and the final sale price for those homes has been $595,000. Morrisville is a great location, as it’s only 22 to 28 minutes from downtown Raleigh. It’s in the center of the triangle so you can get anywhere in about 30 minutes. Morrisville is close to Raleigh International Airport (RDU). It is known for the planes that fly over it.

Fifth on the list is the city next door to Apex, Holly Springs, North Carolina. The average list price is $500,000 and the average sales price is $523,000. It is a little further from Raleigh since Holly Springs is south of Cary and Apex. It is roughly 25 minutes from Holly Springs to Raleigh.

Sixth on the list is the city of Rolesville. The average list price lately has been $500,000 with a final sales price lately of $515,000. It is approximately 25 to 30 minutes from Rolesville to downtown Raleigh. The big claim to fame of Rolesville is it is near Wake Forest. In fact, they touch at one point near the Heritage mega neighborhood. A lot of new construction is heading out in that direction on the eastern side of Wake Forest.

A large housing development and commercial space is underway called Chatham Park. This is impacting prices in Pittsboro.
